Stone Reading of a Rambler

In this installation, we watch a gypsy fortune-teller tell the destinies of a rambler, a tramp and a passenger through a tossing of stones randomly. The brass plates coming out of the rocks are 3D reflections of the symbols on the stones seen by the fortune teller. The changing shades of the plates according to the sunlight angles offer the audience diverse interpretations of this reading of the destinies.

“Like a crackling stone, crushing your name beneath it

Knowing that it’s bound to fall, fall to the top again

Then again, to the bottom,

“By this way or by that way, by a burning way”

These wings of fire are the ones will take you

To the maker who made you.”
