Arabesque Fantasia

Arabesque Fantasia is the first exhibition of Ortadoğu. The exhibition presents reflections of individual sorrows and a summary of the daily routines of the artists. As a result,  objects and stories used daily in the lives of the artists are frequently encountered in the exhibition. Sometimes appearing before us in the form of a real love letter, sometimes showing up as a heart-shaped wall ornament comprised of cigarette butts. In the middle of the exhibition space, in reference to the geography of the Middle East, is a figure of ouroboros. The figure made of carpet with eastern motifs, is located around a table which represents the life cycle of the artists, the sad youth of this geography.

The table is the actual table where the duo sit and drink each and every day. The exhibition presents semi-autobiographical elements focusing on artists’ love life,  , their friendship and life cycles and gives the audience a prelude to the Ortadoğu duo.
